Capgemini Signs Deal with Bunge Limited

Capgemini announced a seven-year engagement with global agribusiness and food company Bunge Limited. Capgemini will support Bunge’s finance operations through finance and accounting (F&A) services. Aligned with its Rightshore® global delivery model, Capgemini will provide select front-office, customer-facing functions, as well as specialized activities in some geographies, including global transactions, master data, and issue resolution.

Expanding European Presence, OPI Opens 2nd Bulgaria Center

Outsource Partners International (OPI), a provider of finance and accounting outsourcing (FAO) services, has expanded its European operations with the establishment of its second BPO service center in Black Sea port city of Varna, Bulgaria. The center will cater to the ocean transportation industry. WNS Holdings Limited, a  provider of global business process outsourcing (BPO) services, has signed a six-year contract with SAS Airlines, the largest airline company in Scandinavia. Wipro To Expand Australian Operations As Rules Relax Concerning Gov't Outsourcing

Indian BPO providers will now be able to bid for leading Australian government contracts. Earlier, federal contracts were not awarded to overseas companies in Australia because of security accreditation issues. These restrictions were recently waived after the Gershon review was presented to the Australian government; it stated that all government departments (excluding the defense department) could outsource operations to multinational companies.

HCL BPO Plans to Increase Growth Through Strategic Acquisition

HCL BPO, the BPO division of Indian IT services provider HCL Technologies, is planning acquisitions (target companies undisclosed) to shift focus from voice-based services to transaction-based services. The move will also assist the company in increasing revenues without increasing headcount. The company is expected to decrease dependence on voice-based services from the current 70 percent to about 50 percent over the next few years.
