Satyam Computer Services, an Indian IT and BPO solutions and services provider, will boost its presence in the Middle East market by establishing wholly-owned operations in Doha's West Bay, Qatar. The company has already received initial clearance from the local government to establish a branch in the country. Satyam has been providing consulting, systems integration, and outsourcing solutions in the region.

Virender Aggarwal, the head of Asia Pacific, Middle East, India, and Africa regions for Satyam, says the company is awaiting commercial tax registration and completion of other legal formalities before establishing operations in Qatar. The company’s revenue from the region increased three-fold in the quarter ended Sept. 30, 2008.
