Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) plans to increase its Indian headcount by 1,000 over the next eight months, recruiting about 500 professionals at its Noida-based facility, which should be operational within three months. Aman Mustafa, VP and Country Head, ACS India, said the company is signing contracts with existing and new clients despite the economic downturn, now acknowledged as an official recession in the U.S. To meet growing demand for outsourced solutions as companies look for ways to cut costs, the company also plans to expand its offshore operations across the Philippines, Jamaica, and Mexico.
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, the company has also announced it would recruit candidates from rural India who have basic PC skills.
Headquartered in Texas, ACS provides IT and BPO services and solutions to enterprises, government agencies, and non-profit organizations. The company has operations across 100 countries with 65,000 employees and generates $6.2 billion per year in revenues.
