The Fortum Group, an energy company serving the Nordic and Baltic Rim regions in Europe, has decided to buy payroll management services in Norway and Sweden from Sweden-based Personec AB. The services will be introduced in Norway on March 1 and in Sweden on April 1. Personec will handle the payroll calculation of 3,600 Fortum employees as well as related functions.

“This contract is very important to us, because it covers more than one country and proves that we can operate according to our strategy and can also serve Nordic companies competitively across national boundaries,” said Personec’s deputy CEO Tero Ansio. “We have recently signed service contracts with several large international companies, and this suggests that outsourcing payroll management services is really taking off in the Nordic region.”

Personec provides personnel and payroll management solutions and consulting and outsourcing services. It is jointly owned by TietoEnator and Nordic Capital and employs close to 800 in Finland, Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.
