More commonly known as a state disbursement unit (SDU), this three-year contract has two, one-year options, and a base value of approximately $27 million including a debit card program. It is scheduled for transition to ACS in June of 2005.
"We are looking forward to this partnership. ACS brings state-of-the-art technology and subject matter expertise that will benefit New Jersey residents," said Alisha Griffin, Director of the New Jersey Office of Child Support Programs. "The SDU and debit card program will greatly enhance service to our clients and will do so in a highly cost-effective way."
The contract is being administered through ACS' Family and Community Services business unit, which focuses on the comprehensive management, automation, and operation of public sector human services programs.
"New Jersey is to be commended for taking such an innovative step, using technology to improve service to its constituency," said John Brophy, Group President of ACS State and Local Solutions. "Such innovation will go a long way toward keeping costs down."
In addition to the core services of receipting, processing, and imaging over 4.5 million child support payments annually, printing bills and notices, and providing customer service, ACS will be instituting a full-service debit card system. More than 120,000 custodial parents will be able to receive child support payments more securely and quickly than in the past.
The new Family Support Center will be housed in the same facility as ACS' State Healthcare Group, which was recently awarded a contract to serve as health benefits coordinator in support of New Jersey's Medicaid and State Children's Health Insurance programs.
ACS is the country's leading provider of child support services with payment processing/disbursement operations in 13 SDUs, including full-scale customer service delivery in two states and one county, new hire reporting in three states, locate and collection services in three states, and financial institution data match/locate operations via the electronic parent locator network covering a consortium of 15 states.
ACS, a FORTUNE 500 company with more than 47,000 people supporting client operations in nearly 100 countries, provides business process and information technology outsourcing solutions to world-class commercial and government clients. The company's Class A common stock trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol "ACS". ACS makes technology work. Visit ACS on the Internet at www.acs-inc.com .
